Things are still going good. Florida was a blast. My friends Becca and Kelli were fun to travel with and we plan to do something together again, vacation-wise, next summer. We are thinking maybe a cruise.

I went to Port Aransas with Rodney and his entire family. There were 21 of us. It was fun. I had never been there before. We were grateful that Hurricane Alex went through that area before the holiday weekend. Turns out Houston got lots of rain while I was there, so I was glad to be out of town.

This past Saturday was the annual Baylor Big Cat Fishing trip. I took Kim's son, Jacob with me. My good friend, Kim Crider also went for her third time this year. I was the social one that took photos and chatted with the people. Kim and Jacob fished and did real well. Here is the link to the photos on Facebook photo album: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=189943&id=777557669&l=fba64ae3c9.

I am off to Vermont this Friday and am really looking forward to seeing Temple, Ramsey, Mom, Dad and Grandmother. Michael is going to be there for the first weekend I am home. Dittie and Anita are also coming for a short visit during the time I am there. I plan to spend one overnight with the girls at Meg and Jon's. I am going to have dinner with my good friend Marijane and hope to see Adam at some point during the time I am home. I will have to stop in at the SnapDragon Inn, which opens Sept. 1 and is taking reservations: http://snapdragoninn.com/, to see my Larson "family." I have yet to meet Lars and am really looking forward to that experience.

Well, that is about it for now. We are doing the July movie club tonight and I have chosen Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work for our viewing pleasure this evening. I am really looking forward to it.
I am really enjoying listening to Mumford and Sons as my music today. Till next month.

With the invention of Facebook, I find myself updating here less and less. But I am going to get on here every now and then.

Things are good, hot and humid in Houston. Work is productive and my new place is coming together nicely.

We saw Sex & the City 2 for June 2010 movie club. Next month is my pick, I am not sure what I will choose yet.

I leave this weekend for a mini-vacation to Florida with some girlfriends. I will try and post some photos.

Check out all of the Fund for Teachers Fellows blogs I am following if you get a chance, they are doing amazing things this summer.

The week after Greenday I went to Galveston with Rodney, Amanda and Chuck to see the latest Tuna show called, Tuna Does Vegas. We laughed so hard at times I know dogs everywhere were going crazy (that means I was laughing so hard no sound comes out). I grew up on these shows. I have been to see each one as often as possible. Joe Sears and Jaston Williams are incredible actors and great people. The set is very similar, almost exactly like, all the other Tuna shows except when they get to Vegas, the sign comes down. Wicked funny air plane scene with Aunt Pearl and Vera Carp, holy cow, I can't wait for everyone I know to see this show.

After each show I usually get a chance to see the guys. This time was no exception. Chuck, Amanda and Rodney (who had already met them once several years ago) got to see them as well. Amanda has been going to see the Tuna shows for years as well and she loved getting to meet the guys.

Me with Jaston.

Me with Joe. Joe told stories of what a cute baby I was. He also still have one of dad's Texas puzzles that he keeps in a display case in his home. I learned from him that back in the day he used to make ceramic hamburgers. An interesting choice and probably not easily forgettable.

Jennifer and I went, August 8th to see Greenday. It was the best concert I have ever been to by far. The tickets were cheap, the seats were way up there but it was awesome. Incredible backdrops that changed constantly according to the music. He was engaging and interactive the whole 2 1/2 hrs. He let people go up on stage to sing and play the guitar, after of course, making them "Swear to God" that they knew all the words or chords to the song. He usually made the person with them also "swear to God." Pyrotechnics galore! I will admit that the body odor around us was pretty potent and I was hard of hearing for several days but I would do it again in a heartbeat. He did close with Good Riddance on his second encore, his fans would have been very disappointed had he not. What a song! I did record the whole thing but you can hear me singing along and it sounds horrible, so I am not going to post that one. I will post another one that was great because he lets the crowd sing along, then just gives them full reign. He did that a lot.
